The Role
The Head of Operations will be responsible for leading, directing, and overseeing all operational activities. This includes ensuring efficient, safe, and effective day-to-day operations across production, logistics, and health & safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight of the Production Department through effective leadership of the Production Manager.
- Monitor production performance and ensure targets are set, tracked, and achieved.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Manage the Logistics Manager and ensure smooth and efficient dispatch and delivery operations.
- Oversee driver training and competence, and ensure full compliance with all transport regulations.
- Drive performance and cost control through vehicle monitoring and resource planning.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Maintenance Manager to ensure that all day-to-day maintenance activities across the site are well-coordinated, prioritised, and delivered efficiently.
- Ensure that all plant, equipment, and facilities are maintained to a safe and compliant standard, with minimal disruption to operations.
- Take overall responsibility for the company’s health and safety function.
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with long-term objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role, preferably within manufacturing or construction sectors.
- Strong leadership, team development, and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrable experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- In-depth knowledge of production, logistics and health & safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
